For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Galatians 5:5

Hello, all!

Spring is such an enjoyable time as the flowers around us start to bloom. Today’s devotional features one of my Geranium plants that shot up a stem with so many buds. As one of the florets bloomed, I thought about ‘the waiting time’ for the rest of them to bloom their pretty red tones.

This verse from the book of Galatians in the New Testament reminds me that we have the righteousness of Christ covering us when we took Him into our hearts as our Savior. Now we are saved for when our bodies will become whole in the resurrection. No matter when that comes to being, we are held by our faith, and His Spirit gives us encouragement to keep that promise in our hearts. Hope in the bible is not earthly wishes, hope in the bible is the promise of God that we look forward to.

Prayer for today:

Father in heaven, as we stand on Your promise of everlasting life in a new body that is whole and perfect, we give You the praise for saving our souls for that Day in the future. We pray for our loved ones who do not know You and ask that You draw them to You and help us to be an example of trusting You in all things.

May your week be filled with holding on to God’s word and may you live out your hope (holding on to His promises) in the sight of others around you.
