They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright.
Psalm 20:8
Good morning, to you!
The gladiolus flowers have bloomed in my little garden by the back of our house, and they are just as pretty as they have been over the years. It is so amazing to me that they come back every year, and they put excitement in my heart to see such beauty the Lord created.
These pretty pink flowers stand tall over the other flowers in this garden and for that reason I found this verse in the book of Psalms to perfectly pair with this image. This psalm (a Psalm of David) is part of a ceremony before a battle and is an assurance of God protecting His children as they trust Him to be their victor.
As we also stand up for God’s word and trust in His protection, we will do well to give God the glory in all the blessings we partake in. He knows every detail of our life - past, present and future - and will keep our souls guarded from the troubles of this world. When we surrendered our lives to Jesus, we were sealed with His Spirit and the means of a provision of the armor of God. So, when feeling down about the ills of this society, I need to remember that He has a purpose and I need to go to His word for peace.
May your week be filled with the shield of His Spirit leading you with peace and trust.
Prayer for today:
Our Father in heaven, please give us remembrances of where we came from with gratefulness of where we will end up. Let us give to others in the Spirit of grace and we thank You for loving us always. In the Name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
