The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him. Nahum 1:7

Greetings, friends!

Welcome to July, and the heat of Summer! It doesn’t seem to bother the birds around here. This female Painted Bunting landed on the top of the shepherds pole we have that holds the bird feeder and she waited there for some time before going for the food. As this bird held on to the metal pole for security, I recognized that birds trust what they land on to hold them.

I found this bible verse in the Old Testament, and it was a good reminder for me that trust in the Lord is essential for the joy of my heart. Every day this world seems to keep going down the spiral of a troubled society. I do know that I must get reassurance from God’s holy word and understand that He is always in control; His plans are right and true.

This prophet named Nahum, gave a message of doom to Ninevah, a hundred years after Jonah preached to them. They had repented when Jonah confronted them but in those hundred years they went back to debauchery. Though God is compassionate and gives grace, there comes a time when people’s arrogance will reap consequences. Even in the midst of judgement, God reassures His people of His protection.

May you savor God’s grace and hold on to Him with trust this week.

Prayer for today:

Heavenly Father, we give You glory for all the blessings we have enjoyed in our life. Thank You for choosing us and we ask You for the strength to get through this life and give us a large measure of faith to trust You in all things. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord we pray, Amen.
