We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
Romans 15:1
Hello, all!
Here we are in September already, to me this year is flying by. I think we have about a couple more weeks of very hot weather. The flowers in this photograph are periwinkles and somehow, they are strong enough to survive this summer weather. They are just about the only flowers left in my garden and I am so happy they are bearing the heat.
I chose this bible verse in the book of Romans because it speaks of how strong Christians should learn the way of serving others. In our humanness we tend to want to make sure we are taken care of and pass on the ministry of service to others.
We are directed to offer encouragement or helpful aid to those who are struggling. The word ‘scruples’ in this verse is a word for weaknesses. If a stronger Christian can offer to help a brother or sister in the faith, then it will end up being a blessing to both. I hope that I would seek the Lord if there were a burden shared and find the way God leads me in order to minister to that one that is on my heart.
May your week be in tune with the Lord’s directions and strength for giving Christian support to others.
Prayer for today:
Our Father in heaven, we bless your Holy Name and give thanks and praises to You, Who leads us into a service according to the gift of love. May we be a blessing to others as You encourage us and strengthen our faith. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
