Good and cold morning, everyone!

Well, we are in the midst of the first snow and ice storm for 2026 in north Texas. As I was admiring the beautiful scenes outside yesterday morning, I saw this female Northern Cardinal just plop down in the snow that built up on our deck rail and smoosh herself into the snow pile, while fluffing her feathers out. It made me cold just looking at her. I had put out bird seeds in our feeders nearby, early in the morning, so the birds could find it in this freezing weather. I heard that snow can be an insulator but seeing this bird nestle in and be comfortable amazed me. I photographed her through our big window.

It made me think of how God takes care of us and in turn we are fortunate enough to take care of the animals. The way the Lord created nature and the how it all fits and works together is an awesome thing to think about. This bible verse is part of a blessing on the children of Israel. God wants only good for His children, and He watches over us all. This is a favorite verse for me, (among many bible verses), because God continued divine benevolence toward the promised land and Israelite people and I can count on the fact that He is also compassionate toward those who have put their faith in Jesus. He will keep His promises now and in the future.

May your week be filled with the warmth of faith and reflections of the Lord’s lovingkindness and tender mercies.

Gaby
