so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

Romans 12:5

Good morning, all!

One morning this past week, as my husband and I were sitting at our dining table enjoying our coffee in front of the big sliding glass door window, we saw these pelicans swarming high in the sky. There were scads of these birds, and I went outside to photograph them - this was a section of them as they milled about together. A good image for this week’s bible verse from the book of Romans.

We Christians are informed that we are in the ‘body’ (as into a family) of Christ and we are also individuals in Christ. When we professed our faith in Jesus Christ, we became unified with other believers in our belief and have a unique brotherhood. We were given distinctive spiritual gifts to minister to others and through God’s love we are directed to use our God-given abilities to benefit others pointing them to the Lord. Our gifts may be used in service for God, and in turn we give Him glory, which may lead others to the Lord in faith. Do you have a heart to give to the poor, or to help administratively in your church, or cook-bake in loving ways for others, or to lovingly tell others about God, or to help others physically, or ?. There are many ways to lovingly help (minister), ask as you pray to God to show you how and where to use your gifts.

May the love of God lead you this week in service to others, giving the glory to the Lord.

Today’s prayer:

Father in heaven, please lead us this week to recognize a way to help another person and to be sure to thank You for giving us the ability in making your goodness perceived. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
